Engineering Lead,

Lead our mobile practice across iOS, Android, and cross-platform. Shape how we approach mobile for the next five years of the studio.

(01) The role

We do more mobile work than a twelve-person studio usually does — native, React Native, and (occasionally) Flutter. We need a senior engineer to own the discipline: making technology calls, hiring, and taking point on the hardest mobile engagements.

This role is partially technical management and partially hands-on leadership. Expect to write production code most weeks, run interviews most months, and help set direction every quarter.

(02) What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Own technical direction for mobile engagements end-to-end
  • Make and defend platform choices (native vs. RN vs. Flutter) per engagement
  • Lead hiring for mobile engineers and review their work
  • Ship production code on at least one active engagement at all times
  • Represent the studio externally in mobile — conferences, writing, open source

(03) What you'll bring

Requirements

  • Ten or more years of mobile engineering experience
  • Shipped production apps on both iOS and Android (native, cross-platform, or both)
  • Have led a team or practice of three or more mobile engineers
  • Strong written communication — you'll write more decision docs than you expect
  • Based in or willing to be APAC-time-zone friendly

Nice to have

  • Swift, Kotlin, and React Native production experience across all three
  • Have owned release-train engineering for a high-traffic app
  • Background in DX tooling or developer productivity

(04) The offer

Compensation

Leadership-band salary benchmarked against senior engineering leaders at product-led companies. Profit sharing twice a year. Equipment budget, learning stipend, and six weeks of discretionary paid leave per year.

Apply by writing us a short letter about one thing you've shipped that you're proud of.
