Careers

Come build with
people you'll like.

We hire rarely and carefully. When we do, we look for senior craftspeople who want to stay senior craftspeople — not climb out of the work.

(02) The shape of it

What we
offer back.

Senior bar, junior energy

We hire experienced people. We also protect time for the messy, curious work that keeps craft alive.

Six-week summer

Studio closes for one week in summer. Everyone takes another five paid weeks at their own discretion.

Real equipment budget

Whatever you need to do the work well — including the laptop, monitor, chair, and software no one approves elsewhere.

Learn-out-loud stipend

$3,000/year for conferences, courses, books, or the workshop you’ve been meaning to attend.

Profit sharing

When the studio has a good year, the people who built it benefit. Twice a year, no formula gymnastics.

Sane hours

We do not work weekends. We do not work past 7. Burnout is a project risk we’ve learned to plan for.
