(01) Our take
Cloudflare has quietly become one of the most interesting cloud platforms to build on. Workers at the edge, R2 for object storage, D1 for serverless Postgres-compatible SQLite — the platform lets us deploy sophisticated infrastructure at a fraction of the cost and complexity of equivalent AWS setups.
We recommend Cloudflare particularly for client-facing infrastructure where global edge performance matters: auth services, image resizing, rate limiting, geolocated content. For traditional application servers, we still reach for Vercel or AWS more often — but the gap is closing every quarter.
(02) What we build with it
Typical work
- Edge-deployed auth and authorization services
- Global image and asset optimization pipelines
- DDoS protection and WAF in front of existing infrastructure
- Serverless applications with R2 + Workers + D1
(03) How we engage
Engagement shape
Usually layered into larger engagements for specific edge services. Standalone Cloudflare migrations happen when a client is consolidating away from multiple vendors.
