(01) Our take

Framer fills a specific niche for us: marketing and brand sites where we want a designer to own the final ship without a full engineering handoff. The visual editor has become genuinely powerful, and Framer sites can look as good as a hand-coded equivalent.

We don't use Framer for product work — that goes to Next.js and code. But for a one-page brand site, a product launch page, or a small editorial microsite, Framer can be the right answer. The pricing model and the lock-in are the two reasons we sometimes recommend against it.
