(01) Our take
Modern PHP — 8.3 and up — is a perfectly reasonable language to write in 2026. The type system has improved, the performance is excellent, and the hosting economics are unbeatable. We won't pretend it's our first choice for greenfield work, but we'll never sneer at it.
We touch PHP most often through Laravel or WordPress engagements. On the rare occasion we write PHP without a framework, it's for tiny utilities or integrations where adding Laravel would be overkill.
(02) What we build with it
Typical work
- Laravel engagements (see separate entry)
- WordPress theme and plugin development
- Legacy PHP modernisation
- Integration scripts for PHP-heavy infrastructures
(03) How we engage
Engagement shape
Almost always via Laravel or WordPress — we rarely engage on raw PHP work.
